New to D&D?

Quick Intro, Facts & Figures

...

The very Basic Gameplay

In DnD, the player creates their character which then embarks on a journey. What direction the game goes is largely dependent on the choices the player makes for their character and, to some degree, on luck. In certain situations, DnD takes advantage of dice to determine the luck or fate factor, however the outcome of any given situation is never purely decided this way. The character's skills and strengths, which is something that can change and evolve throughout the game, are of great importance. The player's goal in that particular moment naturally matters as well. After all, should the character attempt the nearly impossible, the odds of success would exceedingly hinge on their acquired skill levels.

D&D is for everyone! Why?

Because each DM will take you elsewhere, and every player will play it differently. Here are a few faces you may recognize. Celebrities who have professed their appreciation and, in some cases, even obsession with the game:

Imagine...

You meet with a select group of friends, every week, on a designated day. The Day. The D&D day.

You spend hours together, playing a game of imagination. Each one of you is a specific character within the game.

The character you play can be based on your actual persona, or it can be something you've always wanted to try, to be.
You can be anything & anyone. Your choice. The same goes for your friends.

You meet. The Dungeon Master presents the beginning, and so it starts.

You travel together. You partake in adventures. You solve mysteries. Your character's choices have unforeseeable repercussions. Your actions in the game also affect the development of your character.

You learn more about yourself, and others. You discover new ways, new skills. Maybe you even discover what you've been missing your whole life.

You have the time of your life. Those 4 or 5 hours have flown by, the session ends for the day.

You cannot wait for the continuation. And continue, it will.

The Role of the DM

The DM (or Dungeon Master) represents the world: Life unfolding before the mind's eye of the player.

Creativity & imagination, intuition, improvisation, ingenuity, broadness of swiftly applicable knowledge are all prerequisites for an immersive experience. Not to mention knowledge of the game mechanics itself. It is a lot to demand from one person, but a good dungeon master will cover all of these with ease.

Hiring a personal dungeon master

When you hire a DM, they will approach your and your friends' journey with the responsibility befitting a job, which is exactly what it is. Preparing a campaign is work, even before the journey officially begins. At its most basic, you are hiring a professional so that you don't have to do that work... however, it is much more than that. A professional dungeon master is not only proficient regarding the rules and mechanics of the game, but they also have a very particular set of skills that are needed in order to provide the group with an immersive and unfogetable experience!
