Sage, the Herb

Sage is also the largest genus of shrubby, mostly aromatic plants in the Lamiaceae family. Salvia officinalis is known as common sage, or simply sage. Sometimes, it was referred to as Salvia salvatrix (sage the savior). Salvia rosmarinus is commonly known as rosemary. Other famous family members include basil, mint, marjoram, oregano, thyme, and lavender, among many others.
