reality

Late Latin realis "real"

All references for the contemporary meaning of reality are relatively new (16th - 18th century)

real existed before that, but meant something quite different:
- 1325–1706, as an adjective and noun: "of, relating to, or characteristic of a monarch, royalty, or (by extension) the nobility, esp. with regard to power, wealth, or dignity"

reality noun
See existence

"Romanticizing is a glamorizing. It means the perceived reality of the situation is not enough, but rather than to accept that, or change it, one alters only the presentation of the situation."
